Greasy Skin
It is very important that you watch the type of body crème you use on you face and body. Some products can leave you skin felling greasy.
Using oily lotion on your skin can cause spots as the skins absorb these oils and mix the natural oils from your skin. Before applying any new crème to your face you should first test on your hands and arms to determine how much to apply and the affect it will have on your skin.
Quality products will also help against the cheaper the product the more likely it is that your skin an become greasy or even irritated you have sensitive skin.
Ouch Sunburn
Throughout the summer thousands of us will have been irresponsible and not applied sun cream as often as we really should causing painful sunburn potentially causing skin damage, depending on the degree of the burn it could also lead to blistering which is so unpleasant.
I honestly swear by using any kind of after sun cream…..always remember to keep this stored in a fridge so it is nice and cool when you apply this to your skin….it soothes the heat in seconds and keeps your skin lovely and moisturized which your skin is crying out for after being fried by the suns intense heat!
Get Tanning
We all want that beautiful holiday skin when we go out to parties etc….well I found that the only way to get this is using St Tropez and exfoliating regularly for smooth glowing silky looking skin.
It’s such a good product that even the guys are getting into looking beautifully bronzed all over tan.
My top tip has to be to always use latex gloves when applying the mousse; nobody wants to reach for a drink in a club to then notice that you have what looks like white gloves on!! If you feel you are not confident enough to tan yourself at home then why not treat yourself to a salon treatment.
Make Your Own Body Scrub
Love the way using a body scrub makes your skin feel soft and exfoliated?
Why not make your own body scrub?
All you need is 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 Tbsp. of olive oil and 1 Tbsp. of vanilla extract Mix ingredients well, get in the shower massage the scrub into your skin then rinse off.
The sugar rubs away dead skin and you are left with silky soft skin courtesy of the olive oil. Olive oil is not only good for your body it works the same on your face, why not give it a try and make your own face scrub too!
A completely organic and Eco-friendly way to look after your skin!
Exfoliating Face Wipes
Exfoliating face wipes are a really quick effective method of exfoliating your face daily. Sometimes using a face scrub is timely and you don’t always have time in the morning to do it.
They are simply a facial wipe although rough instead of smooth, perfect for rubbing away dead skin cells, can also be used with water to create a soapy lather if thats what you like.
I use them every day since discovering them- you will find them in most supermarkets and chemists, don’t be fooled into buying expensive exfoliating wipes the truth is they are all exactly the same.

Shea Butter
Shea butter products are popularly used by everyone all over the world. Shea butter offers soothing, protecting and healing properties.
Shea butter is traditionally used to treat dry skin, discoloration and swelling of arthritis, it is also said to have pain relieving properties.
I have found Shea butter particularly useful for dry skin and general all over moisturising. I have also found that by creating a mixture of pure unrefined Shea butter with olive oil (we all know the benefits of Olive oil!) you can create your very own moisturiser, perfect for keeping your skin smooth and supple, it penetrates the skin easily and does not clog the pores.
Try it for yourself and see the difference between Shea butter and your normal body moisturiser!
Organic and natural beauty products
We are constantly reminded of the need to stay green. And the same goes for our beauty products. But we’re not talking green eye shadow or mascara. We’re talking natural beauty products.
Although all beauty products used to be full of chemicals and artificial additives, there is now a huge choice when it comes to natural or organic products.
But there is a difference between natural and organic. Natural products are usually plant based and made of olive oil, vitamins, apricot oil and other similar ingredients. But they are not necessarily organic, unless each individual ingredient used in the product is organic too.
Natural beauty products are really easy to make at home. So why not get down to the supermarket and get experimenting with those ingredients. Perhaps you can even make yourself a green eye shadow!
Make that change
A cancer patient has revealed that she made huge changes to her skincare regime after reading the ingredients of her cosmetics.
Valerie Grandury was chocked at the amount of chemicals in her cosmetics and after she was diagnosed with cancer she decided that she should change to a more healthy regime.
She even began inventing her own organic skincare products in an effort to reduce the amount of harmful chemicals she was putting on her skin.
It’s a big change to make, but perhaps we should all take a leaf out of Valerie’s book and start paying attention to what we put on our skin.
Organic products for your little one
A baby is the most precious gift we can ever receive. So the last thing we want to do, is cause any harm to them.
Very few of us are aware of exactly what is in the beauty products we use and even fewer of us know exactly what these chemicals can do to us.
So more and more of us are now choosing to buy organic products instead. At least you know exactly what you are getting. And this tactic is ideal if you have a baby.
One particular product which is ideal for any mummy is the Original Sprout ‘Worry Free Luxury’ Natural and Organic Family Collection. These products are free of added hormone disrupters, parabens, petroleum oils and many other questionable ingredients that we all love to avoid.
Perfect for all yummy mummies out there.

Kiehl are all set to launch their first organic skin care line and they have chosen a blonde cartoon strip character to front the campaign.
The new beauty line is receiving a lot of press due to its interesting set of ingredients. The acai fruit is receiving the most attention.
The superberry has extremely high levels of antioxidants and nutrients that work to keep the skin healthy. With damage correcting moisturiser, acai damage minimising cleanser and damage protecting toning mist all available in the range, there is plenty of choice for those of us who want to turn back time.
