Sustainable cosmetics summit set to launch

It has been announced that a sustainable cosmetics summit will be held in Frankfurt in November.

The summit will focus on sustainability in the beauty industry and will investigate issues facing the beauty industry including sustainability, natural, organic, fair trade and ecological products.

To begin with, the summit will focus on industry developments, CSR and sustainability best practices and green formulations. There will be a one day conference program and two interactive workshops geared towards the professionals in the beauty industry.

As the whole world begins to turn green, the beauty industry is taking the right direction. Natural and organic beauty is the only way forward.

Organic and natural beauty products

We are constantly reminded of the need to stay green. And the same goes for our beauty products. But we’re not talking green eye shadow or mascara. We’re talking natural beauty products.

Although all beauty products used to be full of chemicals and artificial additives, there is now a huge choice when it comes to natural or organic products.

But there is a difference between natural and organic. Natural products are usually plant based and made of olive oil, vitamins, apricot oil and other similar ingredients. But they are not necessarily organic, unless each individual ingredient used in the product is organic too.

Natural beauty products are really easy to make at home. So why not get down to the supermarket and get experimenting with those ingredients. Perhaps you can even make yourself a green eye shadow!

Make that change

A cancer patient has revealed that she made huge changes to her skincare regime after reading the ingredients of her cosmetics.

Valerie Grandury was chocked at the amount of chemicals in her cosmetics and after she was diagnosed with cancer she decided that she should change to a more healthy regime.

She even began inventing her own organic skincare products in an effort to reduce the amount of harmful chemicals she was putting on her skin.

It’s a big change to make, but perhaps we should all take a leaf out of Valerie’s book and start paying attention to what we put on our skin.

Organic products for your little one

A baby is the most precious gift we can ever receive. So the last thing we want to do, is cause any harm to them.

Very few of us are aware of exactly what is in the beauty products we use and even fewer of us know exactly what these chemicals can do to us.

So more and more of us are now choosing to buy organic products instead. At least you know exactly what you are getting. And this tactic is ideal if you have a baby.

One particular product which is ideal for any mummy is the Original Sprout ‘Worry Free Luxury’ Natural and Organic Family Collection. These products are free of added hormone disrupters, parabens, petroleum oils and many other questionable ingredients that we all love to avoid.

Perfect for all yummy mummies out there.

Kiehl launch new organic super products

Kiehl are all set to launch their first organic skin care line and they have chosen a blonde cartoon strip character to front the campaign.

The new beauty line is receiving a lot of press due to its interesting set of ingredients. The acai fruit is receiving the most attention.

The superberry has extremely high levels of antioxidants and nutrients that work to keep the skin healthy. With damage correcting moisturiser, acai damage minimising cleanser and damage protecting toning mist all available in the range, there is plenty of choice for those of us who want to turn back time.

The glamour of natural beauty

In the past, organic and natural beauty products did not have the best reputation. They were widely thought to be reserved for the hippies of this world.

But these days, organic beauty products enjoy a much more glamorous image, with many celebrities singing their praises.

Organic beauty products are liberating and they can really help you to stay beautiful while still staying natural. These products prove that less really is more and you can truly feel confident in your own skin with them.

And for any pregnant ladies out there, natural products are a life saver. When you’re concerned about using chemicals on your skin at this vulnerable time in your life, natural products are the perfect answer.

Convert your friends

You can’t beat the feel of organic products to make you feel refreshed and healthy again. You’ve tried telling your friends this over and over again, but for some reason, they just won’t listen.

But you are sure that once they try it, they will be converted. So why not do them a favour and buy them a gift set that will get them on the right track?

Jo Wood Organics Langa Gift Set combines Langa Organic Body Cream and Langa Cleansing Body mousse. This can keep your skin supple and soft and can make it feel deliciously clean.

This rich body cream is formulated with apricot and shea butter which replenishes lost moisture.

Natural beauty revealed

Neal’s Yard Remedies’ Face of Natural Beauty has just been announced as Michelle Myreden.

She is the winner of a competition held by Marie Claire magazine to find a new face for the brand.

The entrants were judged by beauty and style editor for the magazine, Lisa Oxenham as well as Sarah and Noelle Doukas from Storm and TV presenter Donna Air.

There were thousands of entries for the competition so the judges had a real challenge on their hands. But finally, Michelle, who is a flight attendant from Scotland, was chosen as the winner.

She was treated to a morning of pampering with Neal’s Yard Remedies beauty therapists before she went off to the photo shoot.

Avoiding the chemicals

When your skin is clogged full of the day’s dirt and grease, there is nothing worse than applying your beauty products, only to feel worse than you did before.

Products that contain lots of chemicals can sometimes feel like they’re doing more harm than good. And when most of what is written on the ingredients list makes no sense to us at all, it can be refreshing to find a product that is simple and completely natural.

Organic beauty products use mainly natural ingredients instead of a long list of chemicals. And there’s no better time to try out organic products than now, with the new organic skin care range by John Masters. This range of delicious products is free from animal testing, parabens, SLS/SLES and synthetic fragrances and it is also suitable for vegans.

So next time your skin feels clogged, step away from the chemicals and opt for the natural approach.

Some yummy moisturiser

Getting glammed up always feels good. But when the products you are using are organic, it feels a whole lot better.

Neal’s Yard is well known for supplying organic skin and body care and natural remedies. And the products you can find here are so yummy.

All women need a good moisturiser in their beauty bag and Neal’s Yard’s Frankincense Nourishing Cream is a firm favourite.

Organic jojoba and sunflower oils are blended with antioxidant wheat germ and skin regenerative frankincense and myrhh combine to reduce fine lines and help the skin look fresh. What more could you want?
