Shea Butter
Shea butter products are popularly used by everyone all over the world. Shea butter offers soothing, protecting and healing properties.
Shea butter is traditionally used to treat dry skin, discoloration and swelling of arthritis, it is also said to have pain relieving properties.
I have found Shea butter particularly useful for dry skin and general all over moisturising. I have also found that by creating a mixture of pure unrefined Shea butter with olive oil (we all know the benefits of Olive oil!) you can create your very own moisturiser, perfect for keeping your skin smooth and supple, it penetrates the skin easily and does not clog the pores.
Try it for yourself and see the difference between Shea butter and your normal body moisturiser!
Heavy Metal Detox
Our bodies contain all sorts of toxic metals which need eliminating. These metals can damage our health, organs and tissues and can play a part in provoking cells in our body to mutate, leading to the deadly disease that is Cancer.
Toxic metals include lead, mercury, nickel and many more. There are products available which help to eliminate these metals and can be purchased from most health stores.
Heavy Metal Detox is one product that can help with this, which has been tested and scientifically proven to work. A couple of drops a day taken for a 3-6 month period will certainly help detox your body, try it out!
Organic Food
Organic food has become a lot more popular and more and more people are opting to purchase local products rather than food that they are unsure where it has come from or where it has been made. Organic food is made using less or no synthetic materials at all during production, and is less damaging for the environment.
Research on the nutritional value of Organic food varies, with some saying that food from Organic farming is more nutritional than that of conventional farming and others saying that there is in fact, no difference.
The cost of Organic food can put people off buying the products, with some prices being 40% more expensive than conventionally produced products.

Are you a fan of Organic products?
Spring is here
We have been having really nice weather recently and I think everyone is getting hopeful for the summer and hoping it is going to be a hot one for once. But although a nice tan makes you look all healthy and glowing just remember how bad sun exposure can be for your skin. What I prefer to do it to get a tinted moisturiser with SPF protection all rolled into one. The tinting products make you have a sun kissed look in your face all day and at the same time the SPF agents are protecting your face from any permanent damage. Try to go for an organic product though as it is less likely to contain harsh chemicals which usually do more harm than good.

Organic Toothpaste
Organic toothpaste – is this the new way forward??
I have heard that harsh foaming agents and whitening products in big brand toothpaste can actually be doing more harm than good. Whitened teeth often feel more sensitive and foaming agents can damage your gums by being too harsh. So I decided to check out organic toothpastes to see if there was any difference.
You can buy quite a large range of products from the internet but the website I thought looked the best was greenpeople.co.uk. They are made with organic products and essential oils, Vitamin C and apparently
offer natural protection against bacterial growth
They do not contain sweetners, fluoride or foaming agents.
Let me know if you are a fan of organic toothpaste and how it compares to regular products.

Exfoliating Regime
With summer literally round the corner it is time to start thinking about your summer skin regime. Exfoliating is a must especially if like me you like to keep up the fake tan regularly. I am a fan of the cheap exfoliation mitts and shower gel. But there are lots of products out there. I usually concentrate on my legs and face. Exfoliating your legs can make them look slimmer and more toned, I really love Clinique’s Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliator. It is quite expensive but makes your legs feel seriously smooth. I then run an exfoliated mitt over my legs too just to make sure I’ve gotten rid of all the dead skin etc. They recommend a loofer but I prefer my mitts. Clinique also have a similar scrub for your face but I prefer Body Shops Vitamin E facial scrub as I use the rest of the range daily for my face. I have also just started using the small round scrubber for my face, really good at getting rid of small spots!
Wilkinson Sword Quattro
The weather has been fairly encouraging so I’m starting to think about my summer holidays. And with that thought comes thoughts of bikinis and bikini lines!
The Wilkinson Sword Quattro for women is amazing and helping keep your bikini under control. If you are afraid of waxing or epilating the Wilkinson Sword Quattro is a great alternative. It is a shaver on one end and a trimmer on the other end and is a must have girly gadget.
Price at about £9.99 it is a handy fairly inexpensive grooming appliance. There is a promotion on a the moment for the summer with a new carry case for your trimmer for when you pop off on your holidays!

Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is this weekend and if you are still struggling to get a present I suggest you head down to John Lewis and pick out some nice champagne or chocolates. Or try the Gift Experiences called ‘smartboxes’. These are great – you can get pampering experiences, holiday experiences, and adventure and sport experiences. These might be a tad expensive for Mother’s day but you might feel like splashing out. Gift baskets are also an option if you want to splash out, most sites on the web will create baskets but you can often chose your own products to go in the basket.
I personally am a perfume fan at Mother’s Day, it is easy as my mum usually sticks to the same perfume. But if you would like a suggestion I would go for J’dore by Dior. I love this perfume, an ideal pressie.

Barry M Nail Polish
Barry M Nail Polish, voted the ‘Best Inexpensive Nail Polish Range’ by InStyle in 2009 is a great nail polish. Grey is in this season so get onto the website or head down to your nearest Boots or Superdrug for your bottle of matt grey nail polish. Look magazine have recommended Barry M Nail polish and I am too. I think it is great, I used to stick to Rimmel but I have definitely been converted. You can get loads of colours and metallics as well. I like buying mine from a shop but I like the online store as they have more products to choose from including lipsticks and eyeshadows. I also really like the blog on their site.

Maybelline’s Falsie
On a night out I am always trying to get my eyelashes to appear longer. I have pretty long eyelashes anyway but I love how false eyelashes look. A lot of my friends use false eyelashes but I really can’t stand them.
Now Maybelline have brought a new mascara that is meant to make your eyelashes stand out just like wearing ‘falsies’.
‘Falsies Mascara’ is apparently formulated to give your eyelashes volume, boldness and the appearance of no gaps. The ‘spoon’ shaped brush fans out the lashes making your eyelashes ‘look visibly thickened’.
I’m never sure about how successfully mascara can change the shape and appearance of your eyelashes but I’m assured by a friend that this one is actually rather good.
